Default Gollum emerges from hibernation

Gollum, my adult male Common Snapping turtle emerged from his winter torpor, to spend much of yesterday soaking up the Spring sunshine:

Jesus christ i didnt know they grew that big! it took me ages to see him, i know i sound daft but i didnt even know that turtles hibernated, ive had tortoises for years but only ever owned 1 snapper and a few terapins as a child it was a craze then, and like most people i didnt know enough about them so lost them.
