Default Double egg

My Margie girly laid a long double egg yesterday, I think Alley had one last year.

It's a Margie , it's very odd, she laid three normal eggs ( small round , for Margies ) and one tiny one, like a little marble, and this long double egg, just like the one you had Alley, a funny lot really. I'll up load a picture.

How are all your eggs, both Hermanns and Margies, looking Suze? Fingers crossed for signs of chalking.

The Herman eggs didn't do anything, so I've taken them out, I've now got the Margie eggs, I put the three best ones in the incubator and they are chalking nicely, I've already got homes for them to go to. I decided not to incubate the double egg, as I didn't want to risk all the problems that can happen with twins. So hopefully I will have some babies in a few weeks. I will keep them for the summer and hand them over about September time.

Good luck with the Margie eggs. You're quick off the mark with new homes for any hatchlings already!
It's a shame the Hermann eggs weren't fertile but at least you have Phoebe to treasure - your own little bit of Sammy and Jemima in her.
I can appreciate your fears regarding the double egg. I'm sure it'd be nerve-wracking watching that one develop...or not, as the case could be.

Looking forward to hearing about the development of the eggs in the incubator and hopefully some hatchling photos in a few weeks.

Oh yes it's nice to have an excuse to hatch some babies this year, I have two friends locally wanting baby torts so I said I could cook some up, so to speak. And I'm selling tiggy, cos it's a he, and I can't manage another male Margie. But one of these friends has another friend locally who wants a tort and is interested in Tiggy, so she sounds ideal.

You have some good friends and friends-of-friends. Undoubtedly you must be sad to see Tiggy go but at least a friend-of-a-friend is better than a stranger.
Will this be the first time you've let a tort go?
