Emma, this is the first time I've let one of my torts go, and it's tugging at the old heart strings, quite a lot, but I know I have to do this. Tiggy is going to be trouble in a few years, and I might struggle to find a good home. I would rather let him go now to some one local, who is a friend of a friend. She's coming to see me tomorrow, so I've been doing a lengthy and detailed care sheet. And I've got a list of questions, I will probably sound very fussy !

No, I don't think you can be too fussy, Suze. You need to feel happy that the new home is best for Tiggy. Margie's get big don't they, so I can see the sense in letting him go now, but I truly feel sad on your behalf, especially so soon after the neighbour's cat left.
Having him local is good too so you might be able to see him (if it wouldn't upset you) now and again. You know where I am if you fancy a chat. I guess you must be really hoping that the little ones will all be female. Ptolome will have plenty of ladies to choose from.

Well the lady came to visit, and is perfect, I'm so pleased. She has been fascinated with torts all her life and her dad used to keep them. Now she wants one herself. She has taken on everything that she need to do , building out door and indoor enclosures. I've given complete care sheets. She will do what ever it takes, and spend what ever is needed. I'm going to look at her garden tomorrow. She lives near me and we are now friends, so I'm very happy.

It will , but I am in no doubt that Tiggy is a fella, and I haven't got space for another naughty boy. But I will be able to visit, and I am very sure he will have a lovely home.

Pleased to say Tiggy has settled in well to his new home, and the new owner has made a wonderful enclosure for him.
Also one week to go until my new baby tort is due to hatch, so excited, it's all looking good and everything happening on time, by that I mean the membrane is pulling down nicely, I think this is going to be a lovely baby, but I'm not keeping it, I have friend waiting , very excited about. I will post pics as soon as baby arrives.
