The male will constantly harrass the female and stress her you are better with2/3 females and 1 male or 2 females or just keep a male on his own

i agree probably best to keep a male on his own, as my boy came from a home with 3 females and my male, and the previous owner said he constantly harrassed the girls and she had to seperate them to stop injurys occuring

You should have no problems at all with a 1.1 ratio. If the space is too small the male would not be interested in breeding. If the space is big enough the male will only be interested when it is big enough and only when the conditions are such that breeding is promoted... which is not often.
Actually... a pair is the ideal situation.

I would never consider keeping one female with a male you would be asking for trouble , it wouldn't be long before the female was stressed.

Well... I've got at least 3 1.1 ratios. Never had any problems with them.
I have to ask... have you kept any 1.1 together?
