"Country of origin"? form confusion
Hi,
On my hatchlings forms in the country of origin box it says United Kingdom..I got them from the same breeder and they were from the same clutch. On my older tortoise Freddies form in the same box it says Slovenia...I'm confused does this mean he was wild caught? I got him from a pet shop.. Also his form is yellow and theirs are white...is there any reason for this? Thanks Nat

It probably means they were captive bred in Slovenia, they have "tortoise farms" over there.

Freddie is probably from a tortoise farm in Slovenia. The reason your babys cert's are white is because they are photocopy's. Freddie's is yellow because it is his original. I may be wrong, someone correct me?

Not so. The topic has been discussed at length on this forum. The farms do exist and they are most likely not laundering wild caught tortoises. You do a disservice to the new keeper and the pet trade by perpetuating such unsubstantiated rumors.
To the OP do a search of 'farms' on this forum to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Ive got one from Slovenia and one from a breeder and have never had any problems with either. they were in separate tables for a year (14 months tbe) but live happily together now...... and have been for 2 years so I wouldn't worry about it x
