Default 24/7 ??

Well I have now put Matilda ( 06 Herman) into her new enclosure (see pictures) and assume that she now needs to be out there 24/7 (the thought scares me daft I know )

She has a cold frame with a house inside that
a) does she stay out now 24/7?
b) what if it turns cold?
c) do I need to put a thermeter out there?

Most of us have our tortoises out 24/7 but if we have a longish spell of cold wet weather, then
we bring them in again for a few days to warm through. But as soon as a warm spell comes
then out they go again 24/7.

Tilly has gone awol - I am assuming that she has dug herself in somewhere in the enclosure. I cant see any disturbed soil at all

We havent seen her since yesterday afternoon and have had bad weather since. I am assuming that she will resurface when the weather warms up, it is throwing it down here today and we have a bad forcast for the weekend.

But how long do I leave her?, or do I go searching moving the soil and look for her? or do I just leave her?

Sorry to be a pest and yes I probably am a bit neurotic about her lol its even worse because it was her first day lol

Once a tortoise has dug down, its very hard to find them, as they leave no evidence<g>.
I would look wherever she/he has a favorite place, or under plants or shrubs.
She should surface when the weather gets warmer.
Just make sure there is nowhere she can get out, its so easy for some to find the tiniest of
holes and get out.

Well we found Tilly this morning half dug in under a fushia plant - panic over.

I have given her a bath and she is basking under her lamp but I will be putting her back out later this morning She has had a nice long drink and is tucking into her weeds.

I had to laugh I told my Daughter that I didnt like putting her out again (I knew that she had to go back outside) and in her wisdom - "what do you do if you fall off a horse you get straight back on again!" so out she is going :P at least I know that no one had pinched her
