Well I was up at 5.30 this morning and went up to the top end of the garden to sit next to the river and listen to the world wake up and it was one of the most pleasant things I have done for a while.
After the dogs had finished chasing away the deer it was nice and quiet all the birds were talking to each other and in the distance I heard my first cuckoo then the kingfisher was darting up and down the river not sure he was happy me being there to be honest, then at about 6am the swifts appeared so I sat watching them doing their stuff. It is a thing I recommend everyone should do even if you live in a built up area I'm sure you would be amazed at to what you will see and hear while sat nice and quiet with a warm cup of tea. |
