Default Infrared heat

Have'nt seen this posted before ormissed it , can these bulb's be used as a secondary heat source. Infrared 150w ES screw, think iv'e seen these used in large zoo viv's.

is it only heat but no light that comes out them?

It's like the old type bathroom bulb's that burn't the head in hotel's and such while shaving, they give off a red hue, to us, they mention can be used for pet's, i think they would be a good secondary shed lamp and can imagine them hung fairly high, the heat is good. Was a wondering if infrared would hurt reptile's eye's. But i do think they were used in zoo's, they use the infrared strip lamp's now with a bigger wattage for mammals, like the pub patio heaters.

don't know if it affects eyes or not but you could point them away sideways maybe, same heat would still come out

Might give em a go, running Acadia 160w plus 100w spot bulb during the day in the Leo shed, doing ok for temp's, thought i might swap the 100w spot for the 150w infra, and chain it up higher, see what temp i get on the floor overall. I'm snow bored ing and need to mess around with summit.
