Not good news I'm afraid. The turtle in the "twin egg" pipped this morning and had her head and leg out this afternoon. Unfortuneatly I think she's died. *She's not moving or responding to touch. I can see a really big yolk sac in the egg, so she's hatched prematurely. I think the humiditys got a bit high and prompted them to start hatching. Another one has pipped and looks ok but is staying in the egg so I'm assuming its absorbing yolk. I've moved the other eggs to an environment at about 80% humidity to try and let them go full course.
Its gutting when this happens at hatching after nursing them through two months. I dont know if there are signs of a second turtle in the egg, dont really want to look at the moment. |

It is possible for one to survive.... even if twin stopped developing/or died.
