Hi so sorry to hear of the deformities. Do not worry it is something that happens and in the wild they would not survive. The next time the tort lays and the eggs are fertile they will probably be Ok it is just something that happens.
With the totally blind one I agree euthanasia is the kindest thing as it is unlikely to survive. Put in the fridge first as this will quietly send him to sleep then the freezer. totally painless. Sorry to say this but it really is the kindest thing to do in the circumstances. If the other one is drinking then there is hope but if it does not start eating then the sma efate is best. i am relaly sorry to say this but it is best for the tort. I have had this happen with hatchlings before and have yet to keep one alive. It is one of the things that happens when breeding it does not always go right. One has to do what is right for the animal however heartbreaking it is for us. Good Luck and I am thinking of you.

Hi Barbara,
So sorrry to hear you have been unlucky with these hatchlings. So glad to hear that the first one is now eating. Try not to be too hard on yourself with number 2, I am sure you will not let the poor little thing suffer unecessarily. Big hugs xx

Dear Barbara, I am so sorry this has happened to you. Bringing life into the world is normally such a joy and I am sorry that you have had such pain this time. I am glad the first is now eating and I am really thinking of you when it comes to the second. I think getting someone else to help you is a good idea.
Thinking of you.
