Default another thread about poo!

Hi all,
I have been overwintering my tort this year, as I moved house in December and didn't want to interrupt any hibernation, especially considering it would of been my first time hibernating.
My little one has been up only a few hours each day and having a nibble on her food, but the big worry is that we have rarely seen any poo! Has any one got any advice on what to do?
I give her baths regularly and have increased this to every day and have been using reptoboost, but still no poo.

Thanks

Your tortoise is probably eating it:0)
Which is something they do:0)
If she is only nibbling and not up long enough, then maybe the food intake is not having time to digest through the system as easily.
Make sure you bathe her regularly.

Gemma - I have one tort who eats loads and poops every day. Always has a poo following a bath too.The smaller one (male) eats intermittently and poos intermittently. Rarely goes in or after his bath. As his poo is smaller it sometimes looks part of his substrate. He doesn't seem to drink as much either, so poo is always much firmer.

Not sure if this helps, but it is interesting to see such a difference between the 2. I do keep up the bathing.

does seem a little strange none at all? has she lost weight do you know? as in she may have pooped and weight less for it. One of my little ones can go a few weeks before pooping but there is usually a pattern you can track when. just check temperatures as it may not been warm enough for it to pass through. And suggest you spray also each day, that helps hydrate and humidity. If really worried I could suggest cucumber and or lettuce as a sort of laxative but shouldn't have to get to that stage. keep us posted wont you. CB

I have to admit I haven't weighed her in a while. So will start that today and see if there is any loss at all. Today we had some of the white stuff, but still no poo.
I do keep the area humid, I water it every 2-3 days (When needed) and spray every day. Will check the temps of the light again.

Jan - how strange! I just keep bathing and hoping for something!!

Haha, Gordon - I actually thought about taking a picture I was that happy. But then realised she was walking through it while on a towel, on my knee and had to control the situation.
