Just be careful where you pick weeds, as some councils will use weed killer to keep them at bay. You can phone them up and they should be able to tell you when they are out and about with the weed killer.

Hi Sandy, that's a good idea! I spotted some white clover and dandelions earlier today. But on the way home there was someone killing them off!
I will just have to have a good scout around. |

Spoke to the Council and they have not yet started spraying their weeds. They're reviewing their schedule, due to the mild winter. So I can phone up and request it in a few weeks.
Planted my seeds today, so looking forward to seeing them grow for my little tort. But at least I know where to go for my interim food. |

we always used to have an empty carrier bag in the car when we went out as we'd stop and pick weeds if we saw a good patch, get out of the towns and sprays aren't used so much. Weeds will keep for a good week if wet and in a bag.
