Default position of bulb

hi, weve got a 2 x 3 ft table for little izzi, and have a 160watt combined bulb.
Just wondering your opinions on whether the bulb is best positioned in the middle of the table or to one end. at the moment it's to one end of the table and this is the end where izzi spends most of its time and only rarely ventures over to the cooler side. Izzi also sleeps at the warmer end, even with us having a small shelter built at the cooler end.
Opinions please .

I agree with RFM, at one end is best so that you get a good temp gradient - you really need to measure the cool end as well to make sure that it is not too hot - torts need a cooler area to retreat to
