Well you can't really blame the sharks for fighting back. They're killed in their millions for their fins to be used as a soup thickener Its a shame they'll get yet more bad publicity from this.

It is a shame but i really dont think shark's are that aggresive it's more why one has changed it's genetic traits in hunting to target humans especially the species involved(oceanic whitetip) but it would be great to think there's a proper killer jaw's out there to fight back

Wink

It sounds like its possibly just one individual shark who's got a taste for easy prey. They have been trying to trace it but I don't think they've found it yet.

No dont think they got the right one yet marine biologist's say it's all most unheard of plus the species of shark make it more unusal as it prefer's deep ocean

Sounds to me like Bull shark attacks. They attack close to shore and usually do so in clusters. A few years back in Florida there were 5 attacks in 2 days within 2 miles of each other.
Jaws was based on a series of Bull shark attacks in the summer of 1916 in New Jersey http://www.njhm.com/matawanmaneater.htm

My OH is meant to be doing a scuba diving research holiday at the same place next September to monitor these creatures and others . I am winding him up about this at the moment and told him I need to dig out the insurance papers.
