Default Cockerpoo

Anyone know anything about this breed? Normally mum is a Cocker Spaniel and Dad a Poodle.

I am allergic to dogs and cats, but would love a dog for my daughters to complete our home. I know someone who is also allergic with asthma to add and has one of these breeds as they are as close to hypo-allergenic as you can get and he doesn't suffer with his Cockerpoo.

Plus they are super cute and the right size dog for us. I am just doing some research into them before I take the plunge.

Anyone have info or opinions? Thanks

Both breeds are great family dogs, so I think you'd be fine.
Poodles I know are good for people with allergies because my sister suffered and my parents had 2 poodles while we were growing up. A Cockerpoo will need clipping often though which is expensive, unless you are going to have a go yourself.
My youngest son suffers as well - he cannot go in a room that has had a cat in it without rubbing his nose and his eyes watering and itching.
I have a yorkie, she's ok as well for allergy sufferers, basically it's any dog that doesn't shed their hair and needs trimming - it's the dander, like dandruff. If they don't shed, they have a softer, more human type of hair.

A lot of the charities that provide dogs to assist humans are using them because they are ideal for allergy sufferers. They also do well in training so would be suitable to train to whatever level of good manners or whatever you want. Both cockers and poodles are super dogs that love being with people which makes a cross of these breeds very people friendly. All the good points of both breeds make them excellent family dogs. The down side is as well as double the good points you also get double the not so good! Do your research into the less attractive points of both breeds, if you can cope with that then you're onto a good thing.
