have you tried a local joiner? even if they just cut the components and you assemble them i can't see it being that exspensive.
even B&Q offer a cutting service which i think is about 50p a cut. im a joiner by trade so i have no excuses materials came to roughly £75 |

Your table looks great, like the idea of the cupboard underneath aswell.
Karin, What about a bookcase on its back, reinforce the back and it cheap. I use these ones from argos, really easy to put together, very sturdy, deep sides and different colours to choose from http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...+BOOK+CASE.htm http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...uctInformation

My hatchling table is an old key cuboard nicked from work, just too the shelf out, its very old but very thick wood even on the bottom lol, my juveniles table was hand made from an old wardrobe that was my sons when he was younger that was in the garage, taken apart fixed together and is suspended under the open staircase, so i can store things underneath it (space saving), i also have a 6ft x 3ft table purchased for £50 from a member on here (this will be used for the juveniles next year).
Anyway sorry for waffling on, Buying a bookcase is so cheap these days especially the ones from argos as Lynne says, and also you can knock 5 bits of wood together very cheaply as well they just need screwing together, builders yards always have odd cut off bits of wood you can just take for free, so worth checking out there too x

Thanks everyone, I bought this one from Argos in the end, it is small but then so is my tort and will be great for the next year /18months until I decide what to do long term -
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...+BOOKSHELF.htm I have just build a big outdoor enclosure so just wanted a tempory indoor one for now but I do really like the ones in the pic above. If I go for the double one, I could get another tort. Hehehe, (and a divorce) Thanks agian for the tips.
