they have seperate enclosures and houses. They each have a 'play area' where they can sit & soak up the sun & mess around in, which is directly in front of their houses.
They get fed in there & these are their own areas to do as they like. It's also secure so i know where they are & that they're safe if i have to go out and they're monitored by cctv from the house They have a shower base sunk in the ground to drink from & have a soak. Then they have gated access to other areas where they get to explore & graze for several hours a day. Other bits of garden, they're allowed in 'under supervision' - coz big torts have no regard for plants & garden ornaments & it can be like someone going mad with a bulldozer!!! They like to feel familiar with their surroundings, so actually aren't that bothered about roaming too far from their house & don't need as big an area as you might first think. If they've got sunny patches, room to be alone if they want, areas to graze & haven't too far to walk to their beds at night , they're quite content. |
