Mallow question....& wet/mould on weeds?

I dont seem to have pimples now that I have cut down drinking the Diet Pepsi.

No1 looks as though it has just been eaten through by a beatle or similar, ok
No 2 looks like eggs laid could be snail eggs washed off should be ok
No 3 same as No1.
No 4 not much damage looks like the start of a bit of rust, red clover gets this near back end.
Frost can totaly wither them or turn them weak and black, to be honest i have seen worse attacks than what you have there Rach.

The ones with a white film or fine talc like dusting/discolouring of green is a fungal mould or a cotton wool type stuff.

The orangey pimple bits are sort of welded onto the leaf.
I cant understand it. I mean I find them all with this...and the leaves are really new and young!
Apart from Burno and me...anyone else finding mallow like this?
The list above then Paul...would you say Stay away from clover with the rust on it, lots of it like that now.
I am just not sure what can be classed as mould spores and what is considered 'Frost attack' ??

Yeah, but theres megga plantain with discolouration Paul.....seemingly turning like this due to the rain, cold and frost.
I think this weekend, perhaps upload some different images of safe plants with frost attack vs plants with mould.
Otherwise (me included) I think lots of people are just going to get confusing one with the other which could be lethal. xxx

Handy.
But thats just a glossy internet picture. I think we need to get some proper pics up here of mould and some of frost.
I have to say.....will be honest, still would not be able to confidently know the difference if I saw either.

The ones you have posted i would feed with no problem, the plantain is different in area's, the slightly discoloured ones will have been efected by cold and damp or a bit of frost, lush ones would be found in slightly protected areas, it is rare to find plantain effected by mould, eaten through is another thing. Again red clover can be found thriving/healthy in sheltered spots.

Not sure about the mallow Rach but I tend not to feed anything that has either'rust'or white mildew.threw away a lot of bittercress with white mould,also dandelions.With all this rain think we have to pick and choose.Plantain always looks'raggy'this time of year but i still feed that.Interesting thread.
