ok... what weeds should be fed to cover all the tortoises nutritional needs?
...but... the question has still not been answered. You being the expert that you seem to present... Why is a formulated/commercial diet bad? I think that is the basic question the OP is asking? From my perspective I've not found anything wrong with using a commercial diet.

After re reading this... I can't believe how ignorant this statement is.
So... weeds/a green based diet is the only option????? Nobody is saying one is better than the other.
