Arrow Slates?

Hi

I want to put slates in my tortoises' enclosure but do not know where to get them from. From where did you get them? I currently put my tortoises food in a plastic plate which is not very nice and looks out of place in their enclosure so I would really like to know where to get a slate.

Thanks!

Hi Dandilion,

You can feed off a terracotta roof tile, if you cant source any slate.

I got a 12" square slate tile for nothing as I asked a tile place on an industrial estate if they had any slate offcuts.

How do you clean slate when they've pooed on it?

Give it a scrub, and a wash with Milton!

Make sure if you are buying from a builders that the slate is the thick kind. As the thin slate can get very hot and possibly burn a torts shell.
