has anyone used hatchrite? its seems the same as vermiculite or perculimalite but says you don't ever have to water it? not sure I would trust it completely even with a gauge?

Sorry Clare have never heard of it and have only ever used vermiculite.

Nope never used it. I always use vermiculite which I have never had any problems with.

I'm using it right now, however, right out of the package it was dry as a bone, so I had to wet it a bit. Some turtle folks here swear by it, but this is my first attempt. I have leopard and yellowfoot eggs in it. We'll see.
