Oh No More Eggs
My female ibera I got in August laid today. She laid 4 eggs, with one of them over calcified. She must have already had that one when I got her. Here she is digging, laying, covering and the eggs.

Dan do you ever miss your tortoises laying?
How long did it take her to lay?

Thanks Linda
Sarah I have missed tortoises laying, usually they are in the laying box so easy to find the eggs after. I did though miss 2 Egyptian tortoise eggs this year that hatched out in the enclosure. The whole process took about 90 minutes. She took about 15 minutes to lay the eggs themselves. In one of the pictures you can see 2 eggs, one on top of another. I took those and she laid the last about 2 minutes after. Danny

I've had a female Hermanns do the whole process in 45 minutes , though she only laid 2 eggs. Usually you can't miss the signs of being gravid Sarah. Lots of pacing, aggressive ramming and mounting, sometimes going off food and digging where they can't
