breeding

one of my north african males is trying to mate with one of my females.
the female is about the size of the palm of your hand, she is just over 4 inches in lenght.
is it possibel she is sexually mature?, would the males be interested in her if she was
still a juvinile?
i introduced a male into her yesterday, and this male has never mated with any of my other
females..
when he bashed her etc, he jumped on top... but didnt get his equiptment out... if you know
what i mean ... so after a few minutes i took him off... the bottom of his tail
was damp .. also i think the female is too small for him, he is about an inch bigger than
and her tail seems quite small yet???,
could she be sexually mature.. ?
the male can smell her even though they dont share the same enclosures!! , and he is very
aggressive towards me, sometimes he will bite me and bash me! lol.. testostrone! 8)

whan should i be expecting her able to produce?

Hi Moe,

I think you should keep them apart, the female will only get stressed out if the male keeps pestering her.

She will have to be a bit bigger before she is mature enough to breed. The closer you leave her to fully grown the better.

I would be surprised if your female can lay eggs at that size, I would suggest they are only
practicing<g>. Or one trying to dominate the other, to become alpha male or female.

i noticed that when my eldest tort passed my second eldest went round the rest of the torts mounting them and giving them litle nips on there legs after she went round them all she stopped, i think she was trying to say I am Paris (nickname miss Hilton), I am your leader lol.
