Hi and a merry Xmas to you all,
Well as expected the baby Elongated was dead in the egg which was a shame. It gets you thinking. it came this far so what went wrong! Better news with the baby YellowFoot as it hatched. This was a real shock as I did not give it a hope in hell's chance it would survive. The baby seems a little weak so fingers crossed. Mich |

Merry Christmas Mike
What a shame about the little elongated, but fantastic news about the yellow, really pleased it pulled through. Fingers crossed it goes from strength to strength.

Great news about the Yellowfoot Mike It looks good to me too.
Sorry about the Elongated I can only think it's hatching reflex wasn't strong enough and it asphyxiated. The embryos need for oxygen is huge right before hatching and the egg and membrane can't transfer enough. Thats why they need to hatch. Danny

Hi Bernards Mom,
I cannot answer your question fully but the new born Yellow is taking a lot of work to keep alive. I have still to see it eat but found it asleep with some green hanging out of its mouth. It has a twice daily warm bath and then is offered very fine chopped lettice. In comparison all my other babies wait until the egg sack has gone and just start eating straight away. It also seems very small as a baby Elongated born yesterday was bigger out of the egg than the yellow is now. Regards Mich |
