hi everyone been a long time since i was on the site, but i'm after some advice please
Jill has laid 2 eggs!!!!! she has definately had some Jack action i do not have an incubator so i have taken the eggs out and put them in my old viv in a tupperware tub with sand i have a light over them and the temperature of the sand near the eggs fluctuates between 27.0 - 30oc. i would like to build an incubator please can someone give me an idiots guide of what i need, where i can buy things and how to do it? don't want much do I? i just want to give the eggs the best possible chance i can. does the temperature mean ambiant temp or the temp of the eggs? |

hi all you need now is a controller for the light bulb habistat do a proportional one that works well same principal as a dimmer switch which you could use if you are desperate and cant keep the temperature down why you find one also a tub of water should get the humidity up i normally measure temperature next to the eggs.

Hi,
Here's a do it yourself incubator http://forums.shelledwarriors.co.uk/...pic.php?t=6298 I measure the temperature of the egg. Good luck with the eggs. What kind of tortoise is Jill? Danny
