koi fish pond pellets
are these ok to feed to turtles?? im sure they are, but just thought id check!
will they be any good for them (ie vitamins etc) or will they just fill them up on useless food. |

hmm not sure, cant think it would do any harm tho. my turtles sometimes eat cichlid pellets that i use for my Malawis, they arent too keen on them but will eat them on the odd occasion

from what l learnt doing the TT course Andy H recomends the following for feeding turtles "good quality proprietary food ( eg Reptomin") 3 times per week in addition to a mixed variety of these foods plant leaf aquatic plant & salad material freely avaiable raw whole small fish occasionally rehydrated low fat cat pellets x2 a week juveniles x1 a week adults zoophobas crickets waxworm larvae limited amounts occasionally earthworms occasionaly tubifex bloodworms hope this helps |

Hi Darren,
Goldfish, Koi or Pondfish pellets are just fine for turtles. I feed Pondfish pellets to all my hatchling box turtles. Danny

I feed mine Koi pellets too, as a supplement to their usual diet of aquatic plants, snails and other inverts, dried shrimp etc... I feed pellets 2 or 3 times a week, the rest of the time they eat what they can find or catch in the pond.
