Default Do Your Torts Eat These...

As well as weeds and bagged salads I just found this and wondered if your tortoises eat what's on their list and which ones have proven to be popular.

LINK: http://jacquiscaptivebredtortoises.com/winter_feeding

It says...
This general green, leafy base can then be supplemented with a surprising range of interesting and highly nutritious ingredients that you can grow for yourself, either in a mini-greenhouse or indoors, and use as available.

Examples such as:
Hibiscus flowers and leaves
Petunia flowers
Rose petals
Nasturtium flowers and leaves
Violet flowers
Pansy flowers
Gazania flowers and leaves
Bellis daisy flowers
Osteospermum flowers
Honeysuckle flowers
Chrysanthemum flowers

Buddleia leaves and flowers
Pineapple sage flowers
Rose geranium flowers
Cornflowers
Campanula flowers
Dandelion leaves and flowers
Carnation flowers
Fuschia flowers
Snapdragon flowers
Marigold and Calendula flowers

Thanks x

Mine have had most of those but the only one they seem interested in are the dandelions and as we know they can't have too many of those.

I'm lucky where I live though in Cornwall, I have enough weeds growing in my local area all year round to feed my 11.

mine also enjoy Hibiscus, petunias, roses, pansies and violas, honeysuckle, dahlias, geranium (hardly and domestic), some fuchsias, buddleia, coleus, saxifrage, sedums, houseleeks, different berries leaves, lavatera, etc.. etc.. I have them all planted in my backyard and available through the year to complement with the weeds (which is their primary diet).

Mine love petunia, nasturtium, pansy, calendula, campanula and honeysuckle from that list. They don't seem to be very keen on buddleia or fuchsia, which is annoying as I have them available in abundance, but I grow zinnia and dahlia for them which they like.
