Safe?
Can someone tell me if this is tort safe/edible please?

The fact that he/she states "I think that's what it's called" would concern me, Id rather get one from a genuine tortoise site

The plant on offer is Opuntia microdasys.
The plant itself is not poisonous, but as you can see it is covered in glochids. Each little tuft is a bunch of tiny, barbed spines which stick in you with only the lightest contact. Once in your skin they become almost invisible and because they are barbed, removal is extremely difficult. Avoid this one and stick to something like O. ficus indica which is almost spineless.

Opuntia Velutina is a good one, like a Prickly Pear Cacti without spines.
