The phonetic spelling was close. I do remember the village was very pretty and the salt mines were impressive with the cathedrals and all. I still have some salt crystals from back then.

I used to have a neighbour who came from Wroclaw before she had to flee in 1939...
Back then the town was german and called Breslau.

My home city used to be called Bromberg and is now Bydgoszcz , but I didnt think that EJ would have visited Poland before 1945 .

1969 was my first and last visit to Poland. That was the same trip for my first visit to the UK also.
