Default Digging Tortoise

My horsefield tortoise has recently laid a few eggs but now she just keeps digging in her breading box like she is going to lay some more and then just walks out of the hole, she sometimes spends half an hour to an hour digging a hole but then just walks away, is this normal?
also the male tortoise is still with her and sometimes bothers her while she is dogging a hole should i take him out or are they okay to stay together as i currently dont have anywhere to put him
please help i just want to do the best thing for my tortoise

Welcome

How long ago did your Horsfield lay eggs?
I would remove the male, you could end up with a stressed female.

It is unusual for a female to keep digging having just laid eggs. There should be at least three weeks till the next batch. Are you going to incubate these eggs? You do need to remove the male and give your female a rest from him. So yes I am afraid you do need another box for him. I do not ever keep my males and females together, other than a few hours for breeding.

I keep my male in with my female but when I see her digging I remove him, even though he doesn't bother her it's better all round.

How recently did she lay eggs?
