We usually do the west coast, port Elgol, Torridon, kinlochbervie. We did venture to do my all time dream of watching Elgin play at home against Cowdenbeath. It was a beautiful hot day..... The problem with Scotland is there are very few proper roads....it took two days to travel from Aberdeen to Torridon via Elgin x x. Xhugs c x x

Very nice escape proof enclosure, what about giving her some areas to shade, hide and explore?

I've never had any grapevine leaves to try. That leaf is off my flowering current hedge. It is still there because the don't like it. I keep trying because it has leaves until quite far into the year when other weeds are scarse. I'm always hopeful they might acquire a taste for it.

Well I used to have another slate in there like the one you can see but at an angle with stones at the front so it made a lovely cave. The trouble with that was that they used to both run and hide under it as soon as they had finished the food. Then they would just stay there. It seemed pointless puting them outside if they never got any sun. Since I took it out they are a bit more active but the little one still digs down pretty quickly. That is why she is missing from the photo. I am hoping they are just not used to their outdoor home rather than that they hate being outside.

I have put them out again this afternoon as the sun has come back and added a rabbit bridge for them to hide under. Hopefully they will sit in the sun for a bit too.

They spend most of their time in the shade or partial shade behind plants etc because although Carol Kirkwood tells us it's 25c it's much hotter in direct sun.
I had a photo on here somewhere a few years ago of my thermometer and the temperature in direct sun was 54c but in the shade it was about 22c or something. They still get UV because it bounces off stuff |
