All sorts I think Jen, I make ramps out of sticks from the garden or wood and raise them up with piling up the coco coir underneath. Slate also good if not too high otherwise slip on it. Lots of ideas out there. let us know how you get on CB

That's a really nice set up, can I ask where you got the cage from, because it's a good size, and you can't always get them that big. Just one point, is that a combined uv/heat bulb, it's set quite high, the uv might not be strong enough if it's too high above the tortoise , and it might not be warm enough. But very nice.

I've since raised the stone on which he basks on so he is sat 30cm underneath it, would you suggest I raise it closer? The bulb is a Arcadia D3 UV Basking Lamp 160w housed in a Zoo Med Deep Dome Lamp Fixture.

The Rabbit cage is from http://www.littlepetwarehouse.co.uk/...inea-pig-cage/

omg very nice ! even I could live there !! not that you would want me too, but really nice photographs and one lucky tortoise. watch the sunlight if it streams through the window as it can heat up pretty quick if it does. CB

It's usually 10/12 inches above the top of the torts shell, but make sure it doesn't get too hot, although there's enough space there for your tort to move away f it get too hot. But I have to agree with CB , it's like a palace, lucky tort. Thanks for the link.

Just measured from the top of his shell to the bulb and it's just over twelve inches.

I appreciate the positive feedback on his new enclosure as I've had to unfortunately down size him from 6ft long, 3ft wide, 3ft deep tortoise table to 160cm length, Width 80.5cm, Height 58cm table, which I feel guilty for doing. 😔

For his size, that enclosure is lovely for him. What a shame you had to downsize but you've done a great job in creating his new home.
