My little Clover (who is still in isolation after finally getting rid of his RNS ) doesn't appear to notice the light, but he can definitely sense the heat, I've seen him on top of his log hide trying to get nearer to the heat

No, got it from Reptilekeeping.co.uk

The one I have is the 2nd one that Glynis mentions - its not the infra red ones.
I totally agree with Carl and Jo on this - who is to say that they CANT see it. From seeing Lily - I reckon he could see the red, IMO. When it was not there, he would just settle down. But all of a sudden with the red night light being the only difference, he is awake.
Yes it could just be that he is sensing heat but to me, its too much of a coincedence. I cant say that if he was asleep, that heat, being as soft as it is - would make him just sit there wide awake.
I have to say...considering sending it all back and starting from scratch - subject to my contact at Reptilekeeping accepting the returned goods and me redoing the order.
It is trivial. Just dont want Lily sat there all night whilst this light is on, so agree with you Jo on that one.
I think if it were blue he would notice that too...
Perhaps its just me....what does everyone think I should do with this?
See if I can replace it all (including thermostat) to something like a ceramic emitter on a pulse thermostat or something?? I presume, the small lamp stand is ok still....just need the holder(and shade) replaced, thermostat and bulb??
Its a pain in the rear but rather its sorted now maybe then wait til I cant get no replacement....
Al, its freezing out - especially when you think of like, 2.am/3.am - in due time will need this anyway. xx

I could exchange what I have for something like this above. I can use the Zoo Med emitter with my current clamp lamp as it is this one below:

Just depends on whether he will accept my returned stuff.

Still unsure of what to do...I COULD have the same problem with the emitter...as in Lily awake!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......!!

I know that yes....I might just see if I can swap it to a normal habistat. The one I have now works better with bulbs, its what they recommend you use with it.
But....just unsure of whether to stick with what I have now...or change.
The red light thing though bothers me that it could keep him awake, that he can see it.
Yet...by the same token - it could be the heat. Although heat from any of these sources isnt intense enough to properly warm them surely......
