can i ask
how are you going to anchor the cold frame down

they can / do get blown off

or indeed torts can move them

Here's what ive done today....
Another 2 layers of bricks......
Thats how high its staying as i dont want it higher because of the plastic on the cold frame to open and close the windows.


The wood going across needs cutting but thats going to be where the frame of chicken wire will be (the small bit of wood will be the chicken wire frame but not using that wood it will be longer) that was just an example. Put some wood under the coldframe aswell to it can be screwed down.

Once the frame is done i can fill it with soil. I don't think i need to cement or put gravel in first because the soil there now is really hard would take tucker ages to dig lol!

Whats best under the coldframe soil or paving slabs?

Are you putting something across the front under the coldframe, sort of half way?
As otherwise a lot of heat will be lost from the gap underneath. Or you could put thick plastic strips across.
Just wondering.
