2 for the price of one!
Well I had a shock and surprise when I looked in the incubator today and found I had 6 herman hatchlings from 5 eggs! I knew one was heavier when laid - 17gm - and that it went dark pretty early on but I had no idea.........! Problem now is that I'm not sure which are the twins as they all hatched in the night. There are no really small ones either so I'll have to keep guessing!

Havn't mastered photos yet! I don't know which 2 came out of one egg I'm afraid which is a bit annoying. Just know I had 5 eggs and 6 babies! is there anyone else out there who has had twins - I know they are frequently conjoined and often the weaker one dies. Just WISH I'd witnessed it.

Wow, that's so cool, you hear horror stories about twins, so thats amazing that you can't even tell which ones came from the same egg

Have you weighed them yet? That might give you an idea of who the twins might be.

Amazing. I find that most of my Ibera are different to one another, so easy to recognise each one but Hermanni is another matter, they do tend to look like each other but would have thought one of the twins might be smaller.

I saw the first one hatch at 11gm.Those hatched in the night weighed 11, 12, 13, 14gm and there's one with a large yolk in the incubator still absorbing. So you can see I have no idea but at a guess the 11 and 12gm ones............but that's a normal size. As I said her biggest egg was 17gm but they were all right out by morning. Overall that mum has given me 10 perfect babies (and the one-eyed Peekaboo who is a strong bossy little thing!)
