Hi,

Generally it isn't a good idea to use a Compact Fluorescent Lamp on any circuit with a Dimming switch, this is probably why it is being noisy. (it will just fail)

Reptile UV lamps shouldn't be dimmed or on a dimming circuit either, but any standard incandescent light bulb/spot lamp (no UV) should work fine with one.

Yep lol

I'm.terrified of house fires, have been since we had one back in 2001. Thankfully it was small (in the electric box) the neighbours hated us as the electric was turned off on the whole street for over 18 hours :-/
