UVB/Heat combined bulb
I have been using UVB strip since I got my tort and I am currently considering switching to use one of these combined bulbs:
1) I have read numerous review on how troublesome these bulbs can be - flickering on/off, blown off after a few days used etc...I wonder if anyone could suggest a good brand which guarantee good result? 2) Look at the SW shop - there are two price ranges? one around £40 whereas one around £60? What's the major difference between the two, and if I were to get one, which one should I choose? http://www.shelledwarriorsshop.co.uk...n-one-53-c.asp 3) I am controlled the basking temperature with a dimming thermostat currently. Is it okay for me to use these combined bulb with a thermostat? Would the temperature affect the UVB output, e.g. high heat high UVB output and vice versa? or the UVB level is kept constant regardless of temperature? 4) What sort of bulb holder do people use? I have a 80W max arcadia holder which I suspect I can no longer use for these type of bulbs? Just want to make sure I got the right one for these bulbs... Thanks all!

Normally you get what you pay for but in the case of the Arcadia 160w I would have to say this is the best bulbs I've had both for reliability and UVB output over a period of time. BTW, the Arcadia used to be £60 when it first came out but I think possibly because it's so poular, the price has dropped.
You can't use a thermostat or anything else with combination bulbs I use a 200w exo terra glowlight lamp holder (that's the large size) |

Arcadia D3 all the way - you can either use a relector holder or a wire one. The wire ones are good as the bulbs are not going to overheat which can lead to them cutting out - having said that my Arcadia has been fine with a reflector holder
