hermanns male or female?
Need some help sexing my hermanns please. I had been told female by a few people on a facebook group, but somebody replied saying that he/she has male scutes but a female tail, and this is why I was struggling to sex him/her myself, he/she doesn't match the pictures I am googling for male or female?!
What do people think? Hatched 2011, is 200 grams and 9.7cm long. |

I agree with Suze; she looks to be female.

ooh its like gold dress green dress blue dress white dress... Think female too. Am I right in saying that the scutes on a male are more pointing downwards - I always think about the gap which would allow an egg through. Imust admit I find sexing hermanns the most difficult. CB

I said it's a lady because the tail is really quite small. On a hermann that size I'd expect a male to have a bigger and fatter tail.
My method wasn't very scientific!
