Glimmer of hope??
During our meeting with Tesco plc in early December 09 Care For the Wild's representative Mark Jones indicated that China was facing up to change in some of its cultural practices. With the assistance of the RSPCA, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare, they were drafting new legislation in respect of Animal welfare.
Today, on the front page of the Guardian Newspaper is a Story: Not just for dinner China's pet lovers seek a ban on eating dogs. Is this a step towards a change in attitude, and conduct? |

When I read this I thought... you fn' suck.
Your looking to change a peoples culture... arrogance at it's best. Their action is a political one and it is wrong. To put this in perspective... check out the hunters of the world. Are they the next target? Then... lets go after the fishermen... The... lets go after the collectors... Shell, bug, leaf... I see an irony here... trying to place ones values on someone else... This is so wrong. You are not only trying to place your values on someone else but you are trying to change a cultue that has been in place long before the Brittish Empire ever existed... It's wrong... you're wrong. You've been brainwashed. Quote:

Have you read the article in the UK Newspaper, The Guardian? I suggest, instead of leading off with one of your all too common rants, designed to draw an argument on the forum, you should perhaps consider the use of PM, or a private email. You are of course, entitled to your own opinion, however, if you choose to articulate it on the forum, then at least take the trouble to refer to a dictionary and get the spelling correct! |

No... the average tortoise keeper should be made aware about the politics of chelonian keeping. They should also be made aware that many keepers are very passionate about their hobby.
My 'rants' are my thoughts and a product of my passion. I'm a fence sitter... I like to consider the 'rights' of both sides... sorry if that offends you. I love it wen the best a person can do is attack my speling. This tells me that the person responding can do no better. What angers me... trying to change a culture?????? That's like trying to teach the English how to speak english. Quote:

As for teaching English, I am sure that you will provide a lecture on that subject? |

Thanks for the respect, paul.
Sorry you have a problem with an opposing point of view. (the english comment was a sad attempt at humor to break the tension)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environmen...dog-meat-china If you want an informed debate, please look up the facts. The article is clearly stating the change in legal status is a CHINESE initiative. |
