Can you check my setup?
This is the setup I have now for my new baby redfoot tortoise. I am using a 33x17x12 (in) grey storage bin, with eco-earth substrate (3 inches). There is a hide box for him and I also have planted in the bin a small hosta plant, and asparagus fern plant (in pots buried in the eco-earth). For lighting I have a repti-sun 5.0, and a basking UVA bulb on the opposite corner of the hide box. There is a small water dish that I make from cutting a small tupperware bowl that is shallow enough for him to get in and out easy and there is a few climbing aspects to the tank so he can't be lazy. If there is anything I am missing or is dangerous please let me know if I have done a good job. Thanks.

yeah I am having a small issue with humidity, I think I am going to have to do what you do. Outside of that everything is acceptable?

working on borrowing the roomates camera so I can upload some pictures. I also just got back from the garden center where I purchased a variety of plants for the outdoor enclosure. Just gonna see what the little guy likes.

I was in the process of cleaning the water bowl out so there is no water in the bowl in the pictures, but I just wanted to point that out
I am also waiting on shipping for my bark for the substrate (which was actually supposed to arrive today, but alas). But this is the basic layout of the setup, let me know if its problematic or if there are any issues you would like me to change to better the environment for my little guy. I included a few pics of him or her as well :P Not included are the ceramic heater on the hide side, the uvb/uva strip, and uva basking bulb on the far right side of the enclosure. |

Haha no, the cat was just up by my bed because the windows were open and he likes to cheat death by putting his fat body against the mesh. Also, he is not allowed in my room but when given the chance he shoots in there. Im glad its acceptable for the guy, makes me very much happy!
