Hingebacks.
These four hinge backs have come to me separately in pairs over the last couple of weeks. Both sets of pairs were sold as 'proven breeders'. I think though that they are all girls.... am I wrong?
Could you also confirm my suspicions please that they are wild caught and that they are K.B. Nogeuyi? I presume that they were brought into the country by the same exporter, so I am housing them together and going to treat them for worms and parasites all at the same time. I live in a very rural part of Ireland and would be better off treating them myself than bringing them to the local vet., who mostly deals with agricultural animals.... so any advice would be appreciated. Tort 1 Tort 2 Tort 3 Tort 4 My Hermanns are getting a new outdoor enclosure this summer, so these girls (?) will have the old outdoor enclosure.... and I am going to do my best for them. They seem healthy and are eating everything that I give them. I adore their gentle beauty.

#1 and #4 are definately females. I can't see the tails of #2 and #3, but if they are the same size as 1 and 4, than they are all females. Males have huge tails. You will have to count front claws Louise. 4 claws for Kinixys belliana nogueyi and 5 claws for K.b.belliana. They do look to be wild caught.

Kind of hard to be "proven breeders" when they are all females isn't it It's always interesting what people will say to sell animals.

The breeding part didn't worry me Danny, I have enough on my plate stressing about the hermann eggs. One of them might actually have produced eggs if they are recent wild caught. Just the other one wasn't the father LOL.... (I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt )

They are gorgeous. How old do you think they are?
Will you want to get a male now to go with the girls? xxx

Thanks Lynne, they are gorgeous. They are completely different characters to the hermanns and I'm really enjoying them. I'm going to let them settle in for awhile. Make sure there are no health issues and get them all to a good weight. Then I'll look around. Before I was offered these I had never seen any advertised in Ireland, so getting a male here might be hard. I might have to go to the U.K. to get one...... but that's waaaaay down the line.
Now all I have to do is think of some names, to differentiate them in my records...... P.S I have no idea of ages

I feel pretty lucky myself.... if I'd stayed in the city there would be no way I could have kept all these animals
