'Yello everyone!
 My names Sophie and i'm 12, just joined this site today as i'm thinking about getting a Hermann tortoise and need to learn alot before i get one! If anyone has any tips etc. to help me along [or any good recent tortoise care books you can recommend] that would be ace. Also i want to get my tortoise from Barbra Ashford [on the breeders list supplied on here.] Has anyone got a tortoise from her? Is she a good person to buy from?? Thanks! Sophie

hi sophie
a good book to try is "pet owners guide to the Tortoise". by simon j girling. it gives a good basic knowledge of them in quite simple terms. it has been recommended on here before. you can get it cheap in Borders or on amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pet-Owners-G...9776146&sr=8-3 welcome to the site, i think you can probably learn most things on here that you will veer need to know. all i wanted when i was 12 was a tortoise! i had to wait another 19 years! ejoy the site and your new tort
