As regards housing I think it's the same with any animal. We all have our own opinions on what's acceptable and what's not. Keeping any animal in captivity means it's not going to have the same space it would in the wild so you could argue that whatever is provided will never be enough.
yep stars come from india & sri lanka dont thnik i have enough money to buy the countries but i do have enough to get what i believe is the best home/enclosure for them.

Ed, what are you talking about - you posted saying that the viv would be fine for WELL OVER 5 years. I simply pointed out that it wouldn't as my leo is 9.5" at the age of 4.

I didn't say it needed saving, you said 'I am sure it will be saved'.

Who said the viv wasn't appropriate??

That's the point though. Even your idea may be considered too small to someone else. It's all down to us as individuals. It's surprising what can be seen as acceptable though. One great example that comes to mind is fish. Think how much space they have in the wild yet we keep them in little tanks and that's perfectly acceptable.

Regardless... I'm sure it'll be 'saved'... especially at that price.
actually the seller does not say what that viv is, only that it comes with a large viv so that pic could be a large or small viv. hopefully its the small then he will have a big viv real soon.

Again... putting it back into context... from hatchling on...

The rest is just a spitting match which I'm not really in the mood for.

Its definitely all down to personal opinion. For me, that viv is too small but I like to provide as natural a set-up as possible for all my animals and try to give them things "to do". But then again, thats also because I find that way is more aesthetically appealing. My own view is to provide as big an enclosure as you can afford/have space for. And if you can't provide something adequate, don't get the animal in the first place!

So your Leo is the benchmark for all captive Leopards?

that viv is far to small to create micro climates and in my opinion far to small for the well being of any tortoise, forget heat gratients what about leg room , how can it exercise in such a small space.
