Default "YOUNG FLASH"...THE PIC YOU ASKED TO SEE...

...When one of this years hermanns hatchlings was born (actually, it was the one with the unusual scute)...There was something left over in the egg, I have not seen this before, but it looks like it may have possibly been a twin?...
I was just wondering if any other breeders here have seen anything like this before?, here is the pic I took ...T.T. 8)

That is interesting TT. It would have been very interesting if scuter had been a twin. Just makes the little guy that little bit more special. Thanks for digging the pic out

Like Darren I've not seen it in any of my tortoises, but I have with turtles. All of mine have been attached to the yolk. It looks like that one of yours TT had a small yolk of it's own and it used it up before it could get full size. I've have plenty of twins with box turtles, painted turtles and snapping turtles. Once with a snapping turtle egg I got 2 perfect twins. Both the same size and attached to the yolk sack. They were tiny, unfortunately they only lasted a week .

piglet, hey darren, I thought it may have been an embryo. Yes mate I have seen the other Darrens various pics with not only twins but also triplets. Its probably just as well that only one survived because it is quite rare for multiple births, saying that though, it would have been great to see twins too ...

egyptiandan64, hey dan, like you have said, its rare for multiple births to be a complete success, I guess its because of their birth size/weight, also other factors too...still, you never know, it may occure for one of us in the future ...T.T. 8)
