Baby Guinea Pig news
Well I got home today to be greeted by 2 baby guinea pigs. Sadly one of them was dead but this didnt surprise me as it was twice the size of a normal baby I'm surprised that Rosie managed to give birth to it ok. But the good news is the other little one is doing great a defiante littel girl, which I have named Solo.

Sorry to hear about your loss, it always seems to make the survivor seem that much more special though.

Thnaks everyone.
I'm not feeling to bad thanks linda. I think that if the larger one had survived then the smaller one woudln't have been able to compete for food and would have died. Litter size varies usually between 2 and 6. The most I've had in a litter is 4. I have noticed thats once a female has had her first litter then litter size stays the same for each subsequent litter. Like Rosie (mum) has had 2 in previous liters and their usually a male and a female but I'm sure that she will prove me wrong one day. The little one is doing great Rosie is the best mother I have so the little ones in good hands. I've seen it suckle so hopefully it won't look back.

Bless! I may be new to this and still need some help with my tort but guineas I can do! I currently have 45! They go with the 11 rabbits, two terrapins, two cats and my tort! I'd like to think that I can give something back by helping with your piggy problems. I'm no expert but have encountered most problems. please feel free to ask!
