Hi Tanya,
There is one species of Hermanns tortoise, Testudo hermanni. All the 3rd names are subspecies, T. h. hermanni, T. h. boettgeri and T. h. hercegovinensis.
The Dalmation Hermanns is found along the coast of the Adriatic Sea from Slovenia in the north to Montenegro in the south. The subspecies isn't widely accepted yet, except in Germany. I have all 3 subspecies and the Dalmation Hermanns are definately different from the other 2.
All most all the Hermanns coming from Slovenia are T.h.hercegovinensis

Danny

Wow thank you for the explanation, I realised very quickly that THB is a sub species and it appears that THH is the only species that is recognised, when I got my little torts from a a breeder on their paperwork it just stated T H when we got home we realsied they were THB`s.

I would still like to have some Dalmatian Hermanns one day
