Darren I'm not saying this tortoise is TGG but from experience and lots of these males of this colour, marking and shape being handed in TGG is what they seem to classed as , but your right the typical radiated pattern, long body, and flared marginal scutes say whitei, Darren you have seen Mrs White this male to me would be an ideal match for her he resembles her very much but alas she is whitei and this little man is TGG seperated by size rather than appearnce.
So what locality was he gathered (collected)from that’s the question but if he were Algerian descent again something of which we may never know as no one can truely know where he was collected from I would certainly say he was a small whitei type which as I'm sure there are different animals within the whitei group within the country of Algeria, for instance Tunisians and Moroccans have a huge species variability within there range so Darren I'm sure this is the case with whitei but until someone comes along with real field work evidence and possible dna work then these smaller yellow tortoises are classed as tgg. Just to throw a spanner in the works:
Andy H has advised me that Jemima (first set of pics) is an elderly IBERA from pics I have forwarded to him, Shirley Neely has also said this separately to Julie Sankey (who is collecting Jemima from me on Saturday). Julie has a male ibera Rommel - who may now have a fun filled summer! As for Joe - well you guys have confused me and I now have a headache! But I am really grateful for all your comments and advise! Dare not put pics of Seaweed up - apparently Moroccan spur too - but who knows?! However, she is a grand old age of 137 yrs, so not even in the running to be a 'friend' to Joe !! She deserves a spoilt peaceful life away from an eager younger man with a twinkle in his eye. Tamie |

Blimey - it is very confusing. Thanks for the pics - love seeing other torts. Cannot believe how much Joe looks like the whitei, male TGG and female whitei in the various pics above! Bless him - he is unaware of the identity issues I am having with him!
