I shall phrase my posts very carefully from now on...
Pebble had a fab weekend. The great weather was a lot to do with it I'm sure but he was very happy, apart from the car journey. I half-filled a plastic drawer with soil, added his plant pot of Timothy hay and his log tunnel (fave hides) and popped him in, thinking he would dig down and kip for the whole journey. WRONG!!! The road vibration woke him up straightaway and he spent the entire trip wandering around his mobile home. I bought an Exo Terra 60W basking bulb for £3-ish and an ES adaptor for £5-ish (grrrrrr!! - flipping lamp was a bayonet fitting!) to provide heat. I switched this on each morning to wake him up, then popped him in the bath, still with the heat over him, then put him out in the sunshine in a guinea pig run. He had shade, water, hides, food and basically loved it. I gave him another bath and more nosh in the evening and he tucked up in his plant pot til next day. So I'm another one who is all for travelling torts. Much less stressful than worrying about who is pet sitting and whether they'll do it right. |

do you think this could be our summer? I think the seasons are changing, the last few years it's been okay early on, usually May and June then rain July and August

The things we do for our torts. It shows all we need is a bit of planning and the whole family can enjoy a weekend away. Sounds like you had a good weekend.
I think that's it for the sun though, we've had our allocated 4 days this year, get the winter cloths out again. lol lol lol
