Day 9 Things are looking up
Well I don't know if it's just cause the sun is out but I think things are finally improving.
At lunch time today Pebble put in an appearance *hooray* without any prompting. He demolished most of his food and then went for a paddle. The sun reflecting off the water kept him amused for ages. He has stayed up for most of the afternoon - basking and munching some more. I just need to reorganise some of his pebbles so he can get into his water unaided. He keeps getting stuck on the edge of the dish. Need to dig it in better. But that aside, I'm SOOOOOOO chuffed that he's settling in OK. |

Great they can take time to be thereselves, i think it's a feeling safe thing like no predator's. Careful not to do any mass rearranging before they trust/sus thing's out.

Totally agree with this, don't go changing his enclosure around, not now he's getting used to it

Great news. So pleased he now seems to have settled. Fingers crossed it continues to keep going well.

I haven't moved anything round. I've just put some extra pebbles in and around his water bowl so he can climb in and out unaided. It's a saucer for under a plant pot but he couldn't quite get over the edge - kept 'grounding' - so he would reverse and not go in. Now he's settling in I didn't want him to avoid his water and end up dehydrated.
He has tried his new 'beach' out and it's much better for him. He can go for a dip/drink at will. |
