Default Carrot leaves?

In one of the many diet lists I've consulted I saw carrot leaves listed as an OK food. Is this correct?

If so, I going to go back to childhood and put carrot tops in a saucer of water on the kitchen windowsill.

Ours was eating little bits of chopped up carrot in the pet shop. The carrot leaves thing was on the diet sheet they gave us but I thought I'd run by SW before I gave him any.

A very occaisoinal little bit of carrot is going to do no harm, high in vit C I believe and beta carotene. I have sprinkled grated carrot over weeds maybe twice over a summer.

I have heard of people feeding carrot tops but not something I've done myself and not read that it is beneficial anywhere, so personnally I'd avoid

Cheers Bindi. Would've been an easy one to grow at home but thought it best to check.

PS Temps are rising nicely. Currently 32.5 in basking spot.
